Dear ^^INITIATIVE.AUDIENCE MEMBER.FIRST NAME^^,

Home isn't just a place on a map. It's about who you are and your place in the world. For our seriously injured veterans, the journey home is a tough one. Many feel their identity has been stripped away with their injury.

This holiday, your donation to Paralyzed Veterans of America will help these brave men and women heal their emotional wounds, reclaim their lives — and truly come home.

For retired Army Specialist Johnnie Williams — paralyzed when his convoy was blown up in Iraq — the road home has been a dark one.

The transition wasn't easy. I thought, I'm in a wheelchair, what am I going to do? It got really bad for the next couple of years because I didn't have anything else to put my energy into. - Johnnie Williams

With help from supporters like you, Johnnie overcame his darkness, pain and loss of self-worth through our adaptive sports programs. And this past September, Johnnie competed in the 2016 Paralympics in Rio. Now Johnnie has truly come home.

This holiday, your donation will help other wounded veterans find their way home by helping them find their new place in the world.

DONATE NOW
Sincerely,

Sherman Gillums Jr.
