Hear Tony Award nominee Kathleen Chalfant read from a play about Lillian Wald, and a group of historians and activists illuminate Henry Street founder’s legacy at the  Third Annual Lillian Wald Symposium: Nevertheless She’s Persisted on Monday, March 19, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Settlement’s historic dining room at 267 Henry Street. Celebrating at the Gala Preview of The Art Show’s 30th Anniversary

The “grand dame of New York Art fairs” – The Art Show – celebrated a spirited 30th anniversary on February 27, as art enthusiasts, philanthropists and business leaders filled the Park Avenue Armory for the Gala Preview. The elegant evening to benefit Henry Street Settlement is organized by the Art Dealers Association of America. Attendees enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres while exploring the curated exhibitions by 72 of the nation’s leading art dealers. Dinner with Danny

Dinner with Danny: A Very Special Evening

Friends, former colleagues and family gathered on February 8th to celebrate Daniel Kronenfeld, the beloved former Executive Director of Henry Street, at Dinner with Danny, a special event held to name the Henry Street Executive Office in his honor. Danny created the Settlement’s Urban Family Center in 1972, America’s first apartment-style family homeless shelter, and served as its director before being named Executive Director of the Settlement. Youth Take Action

Henry Street Youth Take Action in Albany

Students from Henry Street programs joined hundreds of other New York City youth in Albany recently to campaign for increased youth employment funding at Youth Action Day. Held each year and organized by United Neighborhood Houses (UNH), Youth Action Day organizes young people from settlement houses across the five boroughs to visit the New York State Capitol building for a rally and a day of lobbying.
